It’s been a busy year in Australian politics. We’ve seen party leadership changes, hung parliaments at federal and state level and the election of Australia’s first female Prime Minister. Federal cabinet and portfolio reshuffles, department name changes and upcoming State elections mean it can be tricky for everyday Australians to work out who to contact about a government issue.

The answer is on your book shelf. The White Pages® Book includes an 8-10 page “Government Index” section in the front of each directory which lists a range of topics people commonly need to contact the government about and a page reference for the correct organisation to contact.  Ever wondered who to contact about beach conditions?  Look under Beaches and if you are in Sydney you’ll be directed to the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water. In Perth, it’s the Department of Environment and Conservation.

So whilst contacting government can sometime seem like a daunting or difficult task, just remember your White Pages® Book – it’s there to help you get connected with the appropriate government body for your query.
