White Pages Covers Program
Celebrating Courageous Australians
February 8, 2010
White Pages® is recognising courageous Australians from across the country on the covers of its 2010/2011 directories.
The Courageous Australians theme was chosen to recognise the brave and selfless acts of Australian men and women. The first directories for 2010 will begin distribution on 6 February.
The extraordinary Australians to be honoured this year include people from five to 78 years old; they are from all walks of life but they have one thing in common, and that is courage. Some have risked their own safety to help others; others have overcome personal hardship or shown inspirational bravery; and some have even saved lives.
Jane Blackley, White Pages® Group Manager, said “Australians are known for their compassion and willingness to put their hand up to help when it’s needed most. Whether helping to build better community relationships, showing strong leadership, inspiring others, or acting in a major crisis to protect the lives of others, we really wanted to demonstrate the diversity of what it means to be courageous.
“We felt the Courageous Australians theme was particularly relevant with many parts of Australia having experienced testing times over the past couple of years.”
Yellow Pages® and White Pages® directories are due to begin distribution in Launceston, Bathurst, Tamworth, Albury and Dubbo on Saturday, 6 February 2010 with other regions to follow in the coming months.
